Our hair grows about ¼ to ½ inch every month and the foundation of all our new hair, skin and nail growth is from the nutrients we eat. Here are some foods for healthy and shiny hair.

Sweet Potatoes

Sweet potatoes are enhanced with an antioxidant called beta carotene, our bodies turn this antioxidant into Vitamin A.  Then the Vitamin A helps protect against dull dry hair. Beta Carotene can also be found in mangoes, carrots, and cantaloupe. It also helps to produce an oily fluid called sebum from care our skull and hair drying.

Lean Poultry

Protein is found in lean meat like chicken and turkey, which are less on saturated fat unlike red meat like beef. When your hair doesn’t have enough protein, hair will stop growing and it leads to the hair loss because of older hair falling out.

Guava

A specialty of our local Pakistani fruit, guava is more than just a tropical fruit. It is loaded with vitamin C that protects your hair from breaking. One cup of guava has 377 milligrams of vitamin C.

Salmon

Omega-3 is important for our bodies, this helps our head from being dry therefore making our hair look dull. Salmon increases on making it grow and shine. Salmon is a type of food that is loaded with Omega-3 fatty acids and is also high-quality protein basis filled with vitamin B-12 and iron.

Greek Yogurt

Greek yogurt also contains an ingredient which helps with blood circulation of our scalp and hair growth. That is filled with protein to help build a block of your locks. It has vitamin B5 also known as pantothenic acid, that may also help fight against hair retreating and damage.

Eggs

Eggs have lots of protein, iron and also rich with Vitamin B that helps your hair grow.

Nuts

Nuts are great source of zinc, like almonds, cashews and walnuts. It contains omega-3 fatty acid and alpha-linoleic acid that may help form your hair.

Spinach: Eating spinach will not only help you get lots of vitamin A, vitamin C, plus iron, and folate. These nutrients help your hair remaining moisturized and not breaking.

Iron-Fortified Cereal

Cereal will help to retain your weight for those that are too healthy or want to lose some weight. Shortage in iron can lead to major hair loss. Iron can be found in pastas, grains, lentils and soybeans.

Cinnamon

It helps with the blood flow that lets the oxygen and nutrients to for healthy hair. You can use it as a sprinkling on toast, coffee and oatmeal.
